8. Nutrition during pregnancy

We have already talked about the importance of proteins in our earlier newsletters. TOday we are going to be talking about beans.

Most of us know that beans are an excellent source of protein and fibre, but beans during pregnancy will also help with constipation. Many pregnant women complain of Constipation during pregnancy. Constipation could be due to the pressure on the growing uterus, and also due to the pregnancy hormone progesterone that slows the digestive tract. IRon supplements are another reason for constipation. Taking beans during pregnancy can thus help with regular bowels. Beans are also an excellent  source of folate and iron.
