Will oligohydramnios(low amniotic fluid) cause problems in pregnancy?

When the amniotic fluid surrounding the baby is too less then it is called oligohydramnios. The amount of amniotic fluid increases until the beginning of the third trimester and generally peaks at 37 weeks at which point it is about 800-1000ml. After that, it begins to decrease until birth

 The doctor may suspect oligohydramnios if the baby appears smaller for the stage of pregnancy. The doctor may suspect the low growth when she finds your uterus height is not as much as expected for that stage of pregnancy.
