Polycystic ovarian disease ( PCOD) is a common cause of infertility. Women with PCOS may have infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods or excess male hormone (androgen) levels. Because, they have irregular cycles, usually they don't ovulate regularly.  As the egg is not released every month, the chances of pregnancy decreases.

PCOD is one of the reasons for infertility in women. Women with PCOD have anovulatory menstrual cycles, i.e In these women, there is no release of the ovum from the ovary every month. They have multiple small cysts fluid filled sac-like structures in their ovaries.  In fact, the word “Poly” means Many. These cysts occur when the regular changes of a normal menstrual cycle are disrupted.

Pregnancy is a wonderful journey, but for some women, sadly, the journey could end prematurely in an abortion or miscarriage. According to American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) anywhere from 10-25% of all clinically recognized pregnancies will end in miscarriage. Most miscarriages happen during the first trimester that is before 13 weeks. The most common cause of miscarriage
